Early stage innovation-based businesses face a unique set of foundational challenges as they get off the ground and grow. The “Business of Innovation” is a workshop series offered in multiple locations throughout North Carolina that highlights the unique needs of innovation driven companies, including university spinouts.

Learn from experts in the areas of dilutive and non-dilutive funding, legal & IP, business development, and university tech transfer, and network with successful innovation-oriented entrepreneurs.

Taking the Leap

If you’ve ever been interested in starting a business but don’t know where to begin, Taking the Leap is a great resource for you! In this free four week long cohort, participants will learn about different aspects of starting a business, including identifying potential markets, writing a business plan, running the finances of a business and marketing a business. You’ll work with mentors and peers in fun breakout activities designed to help strengthen your business ideas and prepare you for success. Taking the Leap is a state-wide program.

NC Aquaculture Development Conference

The Aquaculture Development Conference (ADC) is designed to bring together the general public, current and prospective fish farmers, scientists, and personnel from regulatory agencies to share information and ideas about the development of aquaculture. Attendees will learn about several topics relevant to aquaculture species in North Carolina and across the U.S.
