The SBTDC provides counseling assistance to growth companies seeking equity capital, offers educational programs for both qualified investors and growth company entrepreneurs, works with angel and venture capital funds, and serves as a statewide resource and connection to private equity investment. All of these efforts are designed to enhance the investment process between and among angels, Venture Capitalists (VCs), and entrepreneurs.

Carolina Angel Network is a network of successful alumni, donors and friends of UNC who are passionate about helping early stage companies that are managed by UNC alumni.

Charlotte Angel Fund invests in early-stage companies throughout North Carolina and contiguous states. IMAF Sandhills is part of the Inception Micro Angel Fund (IMAF), which is a member-managed seed stage angel capital fund designed to capitalize on the growth in entrepreneurial activity and venture financing, primarily in the Sandhills region of North Carolina and greater North Carolina.

Piedmont Angel Network (PAN)
PAN is a member-managed angel investment group that focuses on investment opportunities in early-stage companies with high potential for rapid growth. PAN prefers life science, software, and technology investments in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad region, but companies from South Carolina and Virginia that meet the group’s investment requirements may also be funded.

A committed capital fund launched in Summer 2023 to invest in and work with companies to help them grow and achieve scale. Typical early stage investments range from $50k to $250k, with an average investment amount of $150k.

RTP Capital Associates is a consortium of individual accredited angel investors passionate about entrepreneurship. They have a sincere desire to help the entrepreneurs in whom they individually invest. Members of the consortium typically provide insight, guidance, mentoring, connections, and other strategic resources (including Board of Director representation) in an attempt to mitigate investment risk and enhance value for the regionally based seed stage companies in which they invest.
