Thinking about starting a business in North Carolina but not sure where to begin? This session gives pre-venture entrepreneurs a practical foundation for getting started, with advice you can put to work right away.

Led by Neal McTighe of the SBTDC, with support from additional SBTDC counseling staff, the event covers five essentials:

1. Entity structures in NC: Understand your options and what each means for your business
2. Startup cost modeling: Learn what it will really take to get off the ground
3. Customer discovery and validation: Test your idea with real customers before you invest heavily
4. Financing your business: Explore the funding paths available to early-stage founders
5. Marketing your business: Build a plan to reach and win your first customers

You will leave with clear next steps you can act on immediately. After the event, all attendees will receive tools and resources by email to support them as they move forward.
