The Blue Ridge Business Network (BRBN) invites you to this special session, Secure Your Legacy: Succession and Exit Strategies for Small Businesses
The event will include:
- A presentation by Anna Jackson of the SBTDC. Planning for the future is crucial for any small business, whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience. This presentation will cover the essentials of succession planning, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership and ownership when the time comes.
- A presentation by Luke Hoffman, Director of Programs, with the North Carolina Employee Ownership Center (NCEOC). This presentation will include an overview of the employee ownership conversion process, financing, and the 3 major forms of employee ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Worker Cooperatives, and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs). When used as a succession plan, employee ownership is a triple win for the selling owner, employees, and the community. The owner receives fair market value for their business, employees build wealth, and the business stays open and locally owned long term.
