Procurement Counselor Ariana Billingsley Completed 2014-2015 LEAD Program

Procurement Counselor Ariana Billingsley completed the 2014-2015 Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) Program. Based on Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner’s principle that “leadership development is self-development,” the SBTDC LEAD program is designed to enhance interpersonal effectiveness and leadership propensity. The core curriculum is based on the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership:

  1. Modeling the Way
  2. Inspiring a Shared Vision
  3. Challenging the Process
  4. Enabling Others to Act
  5. Encouraging the Heart

The program teaches how to:

  • Identify your leadership strengths and development opportunities
  • Search for opportunities to change and improve
  • Collaborate with other participants on a project and presentation
  • Network with colleagues around the state

Each year the program develops and improves. Participants form lasting connections with other members of their cohort, and gain new skills and insights.
