Planting Seeds of Growth: Inception Micro Angel Fund coming to Wilmington

An angel investment initiative that already operates in five other parts of North Carolina is now coming to Wilmington.

The Inception Micro Angel Fund (IMAF) Cape Fear has been recruiting investors for three months and has received commitments of $500,000. The fund expects to raise at least $1.5 million within the next six months, according to Dallas Romanowski, whose Cornerstone Private Equity, LLC earned state approval to develop the local IMAF.

This fund, like the other IMAFs in North Carolina, is the result of a private equity initiative created by the North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) that’s designed to foster economic development.
