PTAC clients received $1,115,000,000 in government contracts

Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) clients reported that they received more than $1,115,000,000 in government contracts in 2004. This includes awards from federal, state, and local agencies as well as both prime and sub-contractors. This is a record for North Carolina (clients received $85,000,000 in 2003).

The US Department of Defense estimates that these contracts support 24,777 jobs in North Carolina's small businesses.

Meet contracting reps from government agencies and prime contractors at Marketplace2005

Marketplace2005 slated for May 31 in Research Triangle Park, NC. Registration information is available at www.sbtdc.org/events/marketplace.

At Marketplace, you can talk with government contracting officers and prime contractors one-on-one. Almost equally important is the opportunity for you to network with the other attendees. In addition, the three Congressional sponsors — Representatives Etheridge, Miller, and Price — usually stay for the day and are available to discuss issues with attendees.

Mark your calendars, register to attend, and bring lots of business cards. In even-numbered years, a similar event, Opportunities, is held in Asheville, so keep your eyes on the SBTDC calendar of events.
