Contact Economic Development Assistance
The SBTDC’s mission is to help North Carolina’s small- and mid-size businesses prosper and grow.  One way we accomplish this is by assisting government and non-profit organizations to develop or enhance policies and programs leading to better opportunities and an improved environment for small businesses and entrepreneurs.  Using our team of research analysts and strategic planning consultants, the SBTDC has: facilitated the development of numerous local and regional economic strategies; drafted proposals and grant applications; managed project feasibility studies; provided technical assistance for entrepreneurial programs (such as small business incubators); crafted community economic development plans; designed business needs assessments; and conducted county economic scans and market analyses.

As a program of the University of North Carolina system, the SBTDC has extensive connections with faculty and students across the state.  Our ability to tap the expertise and resources of the 16 UNC university campuses uniquely allows the SBTDC to assist county and municipal governments, regional economic development partnerships, chambers of commerce, councils of governments, community development corporations, industry associations, community colleges, and various other organizations.
