The Hurricane Recovery Act of 2005, signed into law by Governor Easley, provides disaster recovery assistance to businesses that sustained damages from the hurricanes of 2004. A total of $10 million has been appropriated to support business recovery assistance in one or more of the designated disaster area counties identified below.

Alamance, Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Bladen, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Caswell, Catawba, Cleveland, Columbus, Cumberland, Dare, Davidson, Forsyth, Gaston, Graham, Guilford, Haywood, Henderson, Hoke, Hyde, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Randolph, Robeson, Rockingham, Rutherford, Scotland, Stokes, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey.
